Sercan Sahin was born in Turkey and educated in Turkey and the United States. He holds an MA degree in Printmaking from California State University and a doctorate degree from Arizona State University.  He engages with diverse studio methodologies to investigate and cultivate a body of work to do with time, place, remembrance and memory. His works have been exhibited in numerous shows in Turkey, the US, Ireland, England, China, Scotland, Germany and Spain and represented in various public and private collections. Sercan presented research papers at international conferences such as NAEA, AERA, inSEA and ESAI investigating critical issues pertinent to visual arts education. He is a lecturer at Limerick School of Art and Design teaching Print Contemporary Practice courses.
