“Look at the donkey!”
–Random Kid upon viewing this Alaska Moose at the Natural History Museum

Blake and I have really had a whirlwind summer of traveling! We were just in New York the first week of this month, staying with our lovely friends the Prestons. We had the best time visiting galleries, exploring museums, eating great food (it happened to be restaurant week,) meeting up with friends and playing Halo, of course!

The drawings here are the few I did during our stay–most of which were done at the American Museum of Natural History. We also recently traveled to Georgia and Florida, but I didn’t do much sketching in my notebook there, either. I only have a couple of doodles, including this one of Mom and Sue’s new dog, Tippi:

I also drew my camera at the bottom of the page, which is the tool I largely used to document our recent travels. I was trying to upload some of those photos to supplement the doodles in this post, but my Flickr account is having errors uploading right now.

Instead, if you are interested, you can check out the photos from our travels on our Facebook Page in these sets:

  2. Southern Summer Travels (GA and FL)

And, finally, a couple of pages done in Chez Preston:

The image below is their living room. They have lots of lovely plants, comfy seating, dark chocolate peanut M&Ms, surround sound, and an Xbox. Heaven.

Besides our travel, we’ve been keeping busy with a variety of art projects we’re trying to finish up over the course of the summer. You know my Facebook profile pictures drawing project is one of them!

But we’ve also been carving linoleum blocks, crocheting, drawing, and painting! You can see images of these projects in progress on our Facebook Page in the “Projects” set.  Hope y’all are having a great summer, too! I fear it’s coming to an end soon here in Ohio. It’s been chilly for days!
