Theme: The Unexamined Life
3-D Foundations, SEMO, 2016

Students created three-dimensional studies that used line quality (composed of various crafte wires, twine, and other linear materials) to describe space, texture, and implied mass. The project asked students to pay attention to the little things underfoot, the unnoticed objects and critters they pass by every day. Mackenzie’s cacti forms effectively addressed both the external and internal structure of the plants with an economy of mark to describe shape and volume.
