Part-Part Time Job

Letterpressing in Bowling Green

I got this Vandercook 2 up and running today! All it took was a bit of SAE 30 in the “grease nipples” (or so I like to call them) and some rust removal with mineral spirits. Putz is coming in the mail soon. I lucked into working with a graphic design professor at BGSU who wanted someone to clean up and use her amazing presses in her shop: Les Cheneaux Design Type.

This is seriously the back-yard shed of my dreams: coffee, books, type, 3 letterpresses and a cat that loves everyone. Plus I can print as much as I want! Pinch me! I must be asleep!!

Here are some pics of the shop and all of its glories.

I printed some cards to test out the pressure using blocks I carved for my friends Sarah-Beth & Will’s wedding invites a few years ago.
